There is NO official announcement regarding the 8th Pay Commission arrears. The calculations below are purely illustrative to help employees understand how arrears might be calculated if the government follows the 7th CPC pattern. Do not treat these figures as final entitlements.
The Logic Behind “Arrears”
Historically, Pay Commissions have a 10-year cycle. Since the 7th CPC tenure ended on Dec 31, 2025, employees are speculating that the 8th CPC will be effective from Jan 1, 2026. If the report is submitted later (e.g., in 2027), the salary difference for the gap period is paid as arrears. This remains speculative until the official notification is released.

Why These Numbers Might Change
The final payout depends on three critical decisions by the Cabinet:
1. Date of Effect
Will it be Jan 1, 2026, or a later date? If the date is later, arrears will be zero.
2. DA Merger
Arrears are calculated on (Basic Pay + DA). We do not yet know the exact DA rate at the time of implementation.
3. Fitment Factor
The 7th CPC gave 2.57x. The 8th CPC might recommend a different multiplier based on current economic conditions.
