(Notification Late? Doesn’t Matter. Arrears Start Here.)
New Delhi: While the final report submission might take time, the Date of Effect for the 8th Pay Commission is statistically and legally set for January 1, 2026. This date marks exactly 10 years since the implementation of the 7th CPC (01.01.2016).
Implementation Rule (The 10-Year Cycle):
“Pay Commissions in India follow a decadal cycle. Even if the Notification is issued in late 2026 or 2027, the financial benefits will be calculated retrospectively from 01.01.2026. This gap period is paid as ‘Arrears’.”
