AIPR Filing 2026: DoPT Deadline Jan 31 for IPR & Vigilance Clearance Risk

Urgent Deadline: Jan 31

AIPR FILING DEADLINE 2026
(Avoid Vigilance Clearance Denial)

(For all Group A & B Officers)

⚡ Quick Answer: What is the Last Date?

All Central Government Employees (Group A & B) must submit their Annual Immovable Property Return (AIPR) for the year 2025 by 31st January 2026. This is mandatory under Rule 18 of CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964.

⚠️ Consequence: Failure to submit by the deadline results in immediate Denial of Vigilance Clearance. This blocks your Promotion, Deputation, and Foreign Training.

Strict Action: The DoPT has clarified that non-submission is not just a procedural lapse but can be treated as “Good and Sufficient Reason” to institute Disciplinary Proceedings against the officer.

📢 Save a Career – Share This Alert:

Every January, officers must declare their immovable assets (Land, House, Flat) to the government. While it seems routine, missing the Jan 31 deadline has severe career implications that many ignore until it’s too late.

1. Who Needs to File?

The rule applies to a broad spectrum of employees.

Category Requirement
Group A Officers Mandatory (IAS, IPS, IRS, and all Central Services).
Group B Officers Mandatory (Gazetted & Non-Gazetted).
Group C Staff Only if specifically directed by their Department/Cadre Authority.

2. The “Vigilance Clearance” Trap

This is the most dangerous part. If you miss the date, the system marks you as “Defaulter.”

🚫 Consequences of Non-Filing:

  • No Promotion: You cannot be included in the DPC (Departmental Promotion Committee) list.
  • No Deputation: Applications for central deputation or foreign posts are auto-rejected.
  • No Empanelment: You cannot be empanelled for Joint Secretary or higher levels.
  • No Training: Permission for study leave or training programs is denied.

3. How to File (Online Process)

🖥️ Via SPARROW / e-HRMS:
Most departments have moved to online filing via the SPARROW Portal or e-HRMS 2.0.

1. Login to SPARROW/e-HRMS.
2. Go to “Declaration” > “Immovable Property Return”.
3. Select Year: “2025” (as on 01.01.2026).
4. Fill details or select “No Change” if applicable.
5. Submit via e-Sign/OTP.

❓ IPR Common Questions

I have no property. Do I still need to file?

Yes. You must file a “NIL Return”. Not filing anything is considered a default. You cannot just stay silent.

What if I miss the Jan 31 deadline?

If you miss the date, the online window often closes. You may have to submit a manual application with a “Condonation of Delay” request, which requires approval from the Competent Authority and goes into your service record negatively.

(Summary in Hindi)

(IPR Deadline)
