New Delhi: The Additional Directorate General, Army Postal Service (APS) has issued the notification for the May 2026 Enrolment Cycle. Eligible Postal Assistants (PA) and Sorting Assistants (SA) can apply for deputation to the Army as Warrant Officers (WO). The last date to submit applications to Divisional Heads is 09 March 2026.

⚡ Quick Eligibility Check
Only Postal Assistants (PA) and Sorting Assistants (SA) of the Department of Posts who are below 40 years of age (as on date of application) are eligible to apply.
✅ Foreign Posting: Selected officials can serve in UN Missions (Congo, Lebanon) with allowances up to $1600 (₹1.3 Lakh) per month over and above salary.
💰 The Salary Jump (Civil vs Army)
You get the “Higher” Option:
1. Army Pay: Basic Pay + MSP (₹5200) + DA + Class Pay.
2. Civil Pay: Basic Pay + DA + 12% Field Service Allowance.
*Result: Immediate monthly gain of ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 + Free Rations & CSD Facilities.
⛔ Who CANNOT Apply?
You will be REJECTED if:
1. Wrong Cadre: You are an MTS, Postman, Mail Guard, or Inspector (IP). (Only PA/SA allowed).
2. Age Limit: You are above 40 years of age.
3. Medical: You are not in SHAPE-1 category (Overweight/BMI issues are common grounds for rejection).

No. It is a deputation service. You hold a lien on your civil post in the Department of Posts and will be repatriated after your tenure ends.
Can MTS apply for APS?
No. As per the current notification, only Postal Assistants (PA) and Sorting Assistants (SA) are eligible for enrolment as Warrant Officers.
