Status Update: The wait is over. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has uploaded the Provisional Offer of Appointment for Direct Recruit SSAs. Candidates must report to their Zonal Office within the stipulated time.
In a major relief to thousands of aspirants, the EPFO Headquarters has processed the dossiers for the Social Security Assistant (SSA) 2025-26 batch. The official circular dated 14 January 2026 confirms the dispatch of appointment letters and lists the mandatory pre-appointment formalities.

Joining Formalities Checklist
Candidates receiving the email/speed post offer must prepare the following documents immediately:

Pay Scale & Benefits (Level-5)
As a Social Security Assistant, you enter the 7th Pay Commission structure at Level-5.
- Basic Pay: ₹29,200
- DA (Jan 2026): ~60% (Expected)
- Gross Salary: Approx ₹55,000 – ₹60,000 (depending on HRA city).
- NPS: 10% deduction applies from Day 1.
Important: Extension of Joining Time
If you cannot join by the date mentioned in your letter (usually 30 days):
- You must submit a written request to the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (RPFC) immediately.
- Extension is NOT a right. It is granted only for valid reasons (Medical/Exam/Notice Period).
- Maximum extension allowed is usually 3 to 6 months, after which the offer lapses.
