BPM & ABPM Revised Salary Projections

(Gramin Dak Sevak Special: Kya TRCA Double Hoga?)

As of January 2026, over 2.5 Lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) are awaiting the inclusion of their TRCA (Time Related Continuity Allowance) under the 8th Pay Commission purview. Unions are demanding a minimum wage of ₹26,000 for 4-hour duty, moving away from the Kamlesh Chandra Committee formula.

HINDI UPDATE (SARAL BHASHA MEIN):

GDS Ki Maang Kya Hai? Union chahti hai ki GDS ko “Civil Servant” ka darja mile aur unki salary 8th Pay Commission ke hisaab se badhe, na ki alag committee se.

Nayi Salary Kitni Hogi? Agar 8th CPC lagu hua, toh Level 1 (4 Hours) ki minimum salary ₹12,000 se badhkar ₹26,000 (approx) ho sakti hai.

12-24-36 Year Financial Upgradation

Under the current rules, GDS employees receive a financial hike after completing 12, 24, and 36 years of service. In 2026, this is expected to be merged with the MACP Scheme, providing a straight 3% annual increment plus slab jump.

💡 Key Points to Note (Important Policy Insights):

  • Status Awareness: Currently, GDS are classified as “Extra-Departmental” employees. The Union’s main demand is to grant “Civil Servant” status so that 8th Pay Commission benefits apply automatically without a separate committee.
  • Workload Factor: Your salary progression is linked to the “Workload Points” of your Branch Office. Maintaining high revenue ensures your TRCA remains in the higher slab.
  • Pension Planning: Since GDS are covered under SDBS (Service Discharge Benefit Scheme), it is advisable to maximize contributions to ensure a corpus similar to the OPS/NPS benefits of regular staff.
