The Office of the Accountant General (Audit-I), Kerala, has issued a directive mandating the Annual Health Check-up for all Group A officers aged 40 years and above. This circular enforces the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) guidelines requiring the integration of the medical report with the officer’s performance appraisal.

This article is based on the official circular dated 19th February 2026. In practice, administrative sections will not finalize or forward an eligible Group A officer’s Annual Performance Assessment Report (APAR) unless the summary of the medical report (specifically Part C) is formally attached to the dossier.

Which officers are eligible for this health check-up?

The scheme is strictly restricted to Central Government Group A officers who have attained the age of 40 years or above. Group B and Group C officers do not fall under this specific mandatory APAR-linked medical examination protocol.

DoPT Approved Package Rates and Exclusions

The Government of India has fixed maximum reimbursable limits for this annual medical examination. Hospitals empanelled or tied up for this specific purpose must strictly adhere to these package rates for the standard diagnostic tests.

Are TMT or ECHO tests included in the base package?

No. If the examining physician determines that a Treadmill Test (TMT) or an Echocardiogram (ECHO) is clinically necessary, an additional amount of Rs 500 must be paid over and above the standard approved package rates of Rs 2000 or Rs 2200.

How To Schedule the Medical Examination (AG Kerala)

1. Identify your eligibility as a Group A officer aged 40 or above under the AG (Audit-I) Kerala jurisdiction.

3. Select a date between Monday and Friday during the month of March 2026 (maximum 5 officers are accommodated per day).
4. Undergo the prescribed tests and collect the finalized health examination report.
5. Submit the medical summary (Part C) to the administrative section for mandatory attachment to your APAR.

What happens if the medical report is not submitted?

Failure to undergo the examination and submit the report during the stipulated window (March 2026) will result in an incomplete APAR dossier. This missing compliance can delay the officer’s performance grading, subsequent MACP evaluations, or regular promotion processes.
