Operational Details: Schedule-I 2026

The Department of Posts (DoP) has finalized the calendar for the first recruitment drive of the year, officially termed “GDS Online Engagement Schedule-I (January 2026)”. This drive aims to fill 28,740 vacancies for the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak.

Eligibility Criteria (As of Jan 31, 2026)

✔ Educational Qualification

  • Secondary School Examination (10th Pass) certificate from a recognized Board.
  • Mandatory Subjects: Mathematics and English.
  • Language: Candidate must have studied the local language of the applied Circle up to 10th standard.

✔ Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 Years
  • Maximum: 40 Years
  • Relaxation: SC/ST (5 Years), OBC (3 Years), PwD (10 Years).

Selection Process: Merit System

The selection will be done through a system-generated merit list.

  • No Written Exam: Selection is based purely on 10th Class marks.
  • Grading System: For boards issuing grades/points, they will be converted to marks using a multiplication factor (e.g., 9.5).
  • Precision: Percentage will be calculated to 4 decimal places.

How to Apply (Official Protocol)

“1. Portal: Applications are accepted ONLY at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

2. Registration: Validate your Mobile Number and Email ID.

3. Fee Payment: ₹100 (General/OBC/EWS Male). Exempt: Female, SC/ST, PwD, Transwomen.

4. Preferences: You can select one Division, but provide multiple preferences within that Division.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be a second list?

Yes. If shortlisted candidates are rejected during document verification, supplementary lists (List II, III, etc.) will be released subsequently.

Can I edit my application after submission?

Yes, but only during the specific Correction Window (Feb 18-19, 2026). You cannot edit basic registration details (Name, Mobile, Email) during this time.
