KV Admission 2026-27: Class 1 Registration Dates, Age Limit, and Official Online Apply Link

As of January 10, 2026, the countdown for Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) admissions has officially begun. For Central Government employees, this is the most critical time to verify documents. With the official notification expected in March 2026, being prepared is the only way to secure a seat in the highly competitive Category 1 lottery.
1. The 6-Year Age Mandatory Rule
Following the New Education Policy (NEP), KVS has strictly implemented the age criteria. For Class 1 admission in the 2026-27 session, your child must be at least 6 years old as of March 31, 2026.
Note: Children born on April 1, 2020, are also eligible as per the “April 1st relaxation” rule.
2. Important Dates (Tentative)
- Advertisement Release: 1st Week of March 2026
- Online Registration Starts: 2nd Week of March 2026
- Last Date to Apply: End of March 2026
- First Selection List: Mid-April 2026

3. Category 1 Selection Logic
As a Central Government employee, your child is in Priority Category 1. However, if there are more applicants than seats, KVS uses the “Number of Transfers” in the last 7 years to decide the rank. Ensure your Service Certificate clearly mentions all your transfers to improve your chances.
