KV Single Girl Child (SGC) Admission 2026-27: Mandatory Affidavit and Seat Reservation Rules
Exclusive Guide | January 10, 2026
Under the Special Provisions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), the Single Girl Child (SGC) quota is a powerful tool for parents with only one daughter. As of January 10, 2026, it is crucial to understand that SGC admission is granted over and above the regular class strength via a dedicated lottery.
1. The 2 Seats Per Section Quota
In every section of Class 1, 2 seats are reserved for Single Girl Children. For example, if a KV has 5 sections in Class 1, a total of 10 girl children will be admitted under this quota.
Note: Twin girl children are also eligible to be considered together as a “Single Girl Child” under this provision.
2. Mandatory Document: SGC Affidavit
To claim this quota, you must provide a legally notarized affidavit on a ₹100 Stamp Paper. This is the most common reason for application rejection—using the wrong format or missing the notary seal.
SGC Affidavit Format (Summary):
“I (Parent Name) solemnly declare that (Child Name) is my only girl child with no other siblings (male or female). I understand that providing false information will lead to immediate cancellation of admission.”

3. Selection Process: The SGC Lottery
The SGC lottery is conducted separately from the Priority Category lottery. If your child is not selected in the Category 1 lottery, she still has a second chance in the SGC Lottery. This “Double Chance” is why SGC is so valuable for CG employees.
