🏛️ Supreme Court Verdict

The Supreme Court (Civil Appeal No. 2471/2023) ruled that an increment is earned for past service. Employees retiring on 30th June or 31st December are eligible for the next day’s increment notionally for pension calculation.

Following the landmark judgment, the DoPT has issued Office Memorandum dated 14.10.2024. This revision permanently raises your Basic Pension and subsequent Dearness Relief (DR).

⚠️ Arrears Limitation

For general pensioners, cash arrears are restricted. While fixation is retrospective, actual payments will only be disbursed effective from 01.05.2023 onwards.
